Today ProBrasil stands for the increase of the standard of living of the socio-economically deprived population by means of education in various sectors and professions. Target groups of ProBrasil are small children, teenagers and women.

Local authorities supported establishing a Women’s Sewing Cooperative in the beginning, which grew rapidly and after one year achieved financial independence for a short time. ProBrasil has been funding the cooperative and is supplied by different organizations in Germany and Brazil.

The flat-roofed site of ProBrasil’s patchwork workshop in far-southern Sao Paulo district Parelheiros was leaking. Woven Fabrics decayed and the room, where the women usually worked, became limited. In order to help them continue their activity, RT2 decided to repair their workshop by putting a peaked roof on top of the house.

RT2’s fundraising (active Tablers, old Tablers and friends) of R$ 6.141,20 (EUR 2.700) together with existing RT2 funds made it possible to supply the necessary construction materials. RT2 members also participated in the work during three weekends.

On July, 17th finally the roof was built and now the workshop can continue to go on!  All the women involved are eager to produce fine quality of patchwork cushions and covers for babies and adults, also purses and handbags and small items of needlework.
